Chocolate Cupcake with Chocolate Buttercream Frosting


My chocolate buttercream recipe :
125 gr unsalted butter
250-300gr shortening
30-40gr Hollman soft cream
25-30gr cocoa powder, sifted
15-20 tbs icing sugar
50-60 gr melted & cooled compound chocolate (couverture taste a lot better, but it won’t hold a nice shape in hot & humid weather)

This is sufficient enough to frost 18-24 cupcakes

Use your favourite chocolate candy as topping, such as kitkat, delfi, twix or bengbeng


Cappuccino Cupcake


I use cappuccino cupcake recipe from tatyana everyday food and omit the kahlua. It taste nice however i found the te xture was dense. Not sure what i did wrong.

Therefore i prefer using chocolate cupcake recipe from my cupcake addiction. They’re super moist

My coffee ganache frosting

I use 1:1 ratio of chocolate & cream. It was too liquid, I should’ve used 2:1 ratio. Therefore i mixed this again with 1/2 cup of chocolate buttercream (recipe in my previous post), it was more sturdy and the taste was great.

300 gr compound chocolate
100gr whippy haan + 200gr water, add 2-3 tbs instant coffee to this water. Espresso would be nice to give strong coffee taste
2 tbs unsalted butter, room temp

Once it is cool down, let it sit for 3-4 hours and then whip.

Enough to frost 12-18 cupcakes

Sometimes i use half of ganache and mix with buttercream frosting. It taste amazing as well

Strawberry Cheesecake in the Jar

Chocolate Nutella Cupcake


Akhir-akhir ini lagi sering bikin cake menggunakan Nutella..

I mean, who doesn’t love Nutella??

These Nutella cupcakes are dedicated to Nutella lovers

Earlier, I planned to use Nutella buttercream as the frosting, using Recipe from US, I bet they taste so delicious.

However, I don’t think it will look great as the frosting, because they will just easily melt due to hot weather in Jakarta.

Why? Because,  the recipe use butter (real butter) and not
shortening. If we use shortening, the frosting will stay firm throughout the day..

Taste wise, the one that use real butter will definitely taste amazing…. At the end of the day, it depends on our purpose

The taste came out delicious, however the texture is so dense, probably because it is using Nutella inside the butter – the dough came out so thick and looks heavy

Next, I’m going to try any chocolate cake recipe, take out the Nutella , and instead, I’m going to put the Nutella and fill it inside the cupcake..
